Smiles for Haiti – Kelowna Portrait and Wedding Photographer

Well, there are a lot of exciting things going on with Elizabeth Soergel Photography – one of which is a new project called “SMILES FOR HAITI”. As you all know the need in Haiti is still extremely high and will be for a long time to come. I was wondering what I could do and this idea came to me… My new studio will be opening on Feb 15th in the new INvue building on Springfield so why not do all sessions by donation for the first while. It’s a win win! I get to shoot in the studio (which is a lot of fun for me) and we can help a great cause.
Everyone who participates will receive a studio session as well as an 8×10 print of your choice and I am asking people to donate whatever they can. Every dollar counts. If anyone would like additional prints, they can be purchased with 10% off all sales going towards this great cause.
All funds will be donated through the Canadian Red Cross.
The value of the session and the 8×10 is $210 however I only ask people to donate whatever they can – $20, $50, $100, $200 – it’s completely up to you!!!

Chris & Elisha – Kelowna Wedding and Portrait photography

I had the pleasure of taking photos of Chris & Elisha from Abby Photography . They are a great couple and a lot of fun to be around! They are expecting their first bundle of Joy in April and these are a selection of their “belly” shoot images. We drove up to Silverstar (I love it there) on somewhat of a gloomy day – but I’m pleased with the results!

Holiday Portrait Sessions – Kelowna portrait and wedding photography

I’ve had a blast doing lots of family portrait sessions for the holidays… making cards, getting orders together in time for Christmas. It keeps me very busy but I love it!

Children of the Okanagan Book Launch – Kelowna portrait and wedding photographer

Well, the book launch was on Sunday and I think it turned out great. It was wonderful to see so many people there and to see all the kids again. It was a very exciting day for me and an emotional one too!
Seeing “Children of the Okanagan” complete means so much to me. It’s the final result of a year’s work and what a year it has been. I have met the most amazing families and the kids were a complete joy. I love photographing kids and this year I got to do it a lot.
Of course it feels good to raise over $20 000 for the KGH Foundation but this project has been more than I could have ever imagined. To meet and get to know so many people in the Okanagan is truly a gift. As most people know I am fairly new to this area so to be able to be connected to so many people is truly amazing. I remember worrying when I started this that no one would call – but you did – many of you did and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I am very proud of this book and hope it brings the families who were involved many years of joy and memories.
I want to thank everyone involved with the project including Sun FM, AM 1150, and the “Have a Heart Radiothon” for spreading the word.
I also want to thank everyone who was involved with making the party a success including my friends Karen, Greg, Nikki, Mat and my amazing husband Mike. The decor was donated by A Sweet Beginning, the cupcakes were provided by Sweet Art Cakes, all the AV equipment was provided by Rob at ReMix Show Ind, the fabulous face painting was done by Artivities With Funk, the great photos in this post were done by my friends Elisha and Chris from Abby Photography, and the beautiful venue was provided by the wonderful people at Summerhill Winery.
Also – thank you to all the families who came to celebrate with me and to all the families for supporting this project. I am forever grateful.

oooh baby baby – Okanagan Wedding and Portrait Photography

I traveled to Vancouver a few weeks ago to see some good friends of ours who just had their first baby. We were so excited for them and couldn’t wait to meet little baby Kye.
